Concealer is a very versatile and useful product when it comes to minimizing both light and evident dark circles and imperfections. Unlike foundation, concealer comes with a greater concentration of pigments and this is why it succeeds in concealing skin dyschromia more effectively.
Not all concealers are alike: let’s learn how to choose the right one according to our needs and also how to use it in the correct way!

Dark Circles Concealer
Concealing dark circles is a great step ahead towards a good make-up result. It is actually very important to eliminate dark shadows around the eyes not only to enhance eyelid make-up, but also to put the eyes and therefore the gaze in the spotlight. To cover up dark circles, particularly the darker ones, it is necessary to find a concealer that has a good level of coverage like for example PUPA Cover Stick Concealer, which has a formula that guarantees maximum coverage and a smooth texture that is very easy to blend out. If circles should also have bluish shades, you can choose PUPA’s Cover Cream Concealer n.004, which is an orange tinted corrector that chromatically neutralizes the color of under-eye circles.
Imperfection Concealer
When it comes to correcting skin blemishes such as pimples or dark spots, you need to remember to choose a concealer that has the same color nuance of your foundation. This is because it is necessary for concealer to blend perfectly onto the skin, therefore making the made correction invisible. Also, for both dark circles and imperfections, you always need to dab concealer after applying it, to perfectly blend it onto the skin.
Before or after foundation?
It is better to apply foundation first: in this way you get to create an even base, which partly covers up dyschromia and blemishes of the skin. At this point you will need concealer only to cover up the most evident imperfections in more specific areas. You will also use up less product because when you apply concealer before foundation, you usually blend it out on the skin and you end up needing to apply it again. There are two exceptions to this rule, i.e. when it is better to apply concealer before foundation:
• In case you are using a tinted concealer, then remember to apply a nude color concealer over it.
• In case you apply a compact powder foundation over concealer.
Finishing Touch: face powder
After applying and dabbing concealer never forget to use face powder, which sets the product avoiding it to crease into fine lines.
